Critically evaluating approaches to collecting and interpreting educational data, including learning analytics, performance data, and practitioner research, you’ll examine the strengths and limitations of each. The dissertation is the culmination of your MA Education. You’ll design and conduct an original research project on a topic of your choice, supervised throughout by an expert academic. Working with your supervisor, you’ll develop a research question of genuine significance, select an appropriate methodological approach, and engage deeply with the literature in your chosen area. Findings are analysed and interpreted ethically and rigorously, with conclusions that carry clear implications for practice and policy. Building on your specialist pathway, the dissertation is your original contribution to knowledge in the field.
